Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Her early Broadway performances are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. In You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in a Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford has spent her career working alongside renowned directors and actors across the stage, film and TV and she continues that award-winning work with several upcoming projects. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford is currently working on the film for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford returns to Broadway on March 20, 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who brought us Hamilton is directing the production. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings during the Over an Century. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first major character. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. She has also been in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first character as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for the Tony Award. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
